Just to add to the Montreal vs. Quebec City debate, here’s my two-cents: I’ve been to both cities many times during my travels across the country, and I can tell you that I love both cities for many different reasons. However, Montreal is (to my extensive experience) snobby when it comes to speaking French. As a Canadian from Ontario, I learned French in school, and we were taught Parisian French (IDK why…??). In Montreal, if you try to speak school-taught french, many will pretend not to understand you, or will immediately speak English to you. In Quebec City, they will encourage you, dumb down their French to help you out. I’ve never felt embarrassed to try my French with them, no matter how awful it was/is. And when I apologize to them for my poor French, they are very kind and grateful for the efforts. I had one store owner tell me, “It is our responsibility as merchants to speak both languages. Don’t you apologize!” Love Quebec City.

It’s good in Nizhny Novgorod, only because Putin didn’t have time to fill this Russian city with Muslim migrants before he filled the entire Moscow region and people there are suffering from their brutal murders and rape of children. You would be better off telling us that Russia is no different from today’s West and is dying in the same way. There is no more Russophobic country than Putin's Russia. I speak like an ethnic Russian.
